Typhoon Nika (Severe Tropical Storm category) continues to intensify as it nears its landfall.

The latest data from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as of 4:00 PM today places the storm, which is near typhoon category, 380 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon (15.2°N, 125.2°E).

The storm carries winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour near its center, gusts of up to 135 kilometers per hour, and a central pressure of 980 hPa.

It is moving westward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.

The wind radius extends to 340 kilometers from the center.
