Typhoon signal no. 2 is now raised in the northeastern part of mainland Cagayan, particularly in Santa Ana and Gonzaga, due to Typhoon Marce, now classified as a typhoon.

According to the latest report from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing) is located 415 kilometers northeast of Echague, Isabela or 395 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (17.5°N, 125.5°E).

Its wind strength is around 140 kilometers per hour near the center with gusts reaching up to 170 kilometers per hour, and a central pressure of 960 hPa.

Its movement has slowed down to 15 kilometers per hour, with its strong winds reaching up to 400 kilometers from the center.

Currently, the following areas are under Signal Number 1:
Batanes, the remaining parts of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, northern part of Benguet (Mankayan, Buguias, Kabayan, Bakun, Kibungan, Atok, Bokod), Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and northern part of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora).

PAGASA also warns of a storm surge that could reach 2 to 3 meters above the normal wave level in the next 48 hours in the low-lying coastal areas of Batanes, Cagayan, including Babuyan islands, Isabela, and Ilocos Norte.

Typhoon Marce is moving west northwest as of November 6, 2024, and will slow down as it moves westwards in the Philippine Sea, east of the top of Northern Luzon.

Typhoon Marce is projected to make landfall or pass close to the Babuyan Islands or the northern part of mainland Cagayan by the afternoon or evening of Thursday, November 7, 2024. PAGASA warns that Typhoon Marce is expected to get stronger as it approaches land.

Typhoon Marce may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday night.
