Taguig Police Substation 3 coordinated with the captain of Pinagsama barangay, the area reported to be the gathering place of thieves and drug addicts who prey on unsuspecting passers-by.
During a patrol conducted by the Taguig Police on August 24 at 4:30 in the morning, they arrested Jeaford Dela Torre, aged 28.
He was found in possession of a heat-sealed transparent sachet containing one gram of a substance suspected to be shabu, valued at approximately ₱6,800.00.
In Buclatan's viral video, he pointed out dimly lit areas in Waterfun, claiming these to be the haunts of robbers and drug addicts.
"Their strategy, boss, is to pretend to be passengers. They sit (at the waiting shed), with a phone, making it look like they're waiting for a ride. But they're actually robbers. So be careful with those who come close to you," Buclatan advised in his TikTok video.
Upon inspecting the C5 Waterfun area, authorities also found that the streetlights were defective, particularly in the cloverleaf section of Barangay Western Bicutan, a factor that potentially contributes to crime in the area.
As a result, the police recommended fixing the streetlights in the area and installing closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
The Taguig City Police assured they will increase their presence in the area and deploy mobile patrols. They are also cooperating with the community to ensure safety and peace in C5 Waterfun.
It's worth recalling that recently, Bernard Ferrer, a reporter from Sonshine Media Network Incorporated (SMNI), was injured when an unidentified man attacked him while he was walking in the Waterfun area after leaving the gym.
