A wanted Chinese woman is now detained at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City after being arrested at Terminal 2 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recently.

The fugitive, Zheng Yuyu, 39 years old, was intercepted at NAIA Terminal 2 while attempting to board a Philippine Airlines flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It was discovered that Zheng had fled China due to charges related to human trafficking. Immigration Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. stated that their personnel from the Border Control and Intelligence Unit spotted Zheng and thwarted her planned escape from the Philippines.

Zheng has been on the BI's wanted list since April 9 of this year, along with another Chinese national named Chen Dongxin, both charged for smuggling people out of China. Both will be deported by the BI as undesirable aliens.

The Chinese embassy in the Philippines alerted the BI regarding the two wanted Chinese nationals in their country due to their large-scale human trafficking operations. They are accused of organizing people to illegally and secretly cross China's territorial borders.

Authorities have not yet located Chen, but when arrested, he will also be taken to the BI Warden Facility in Taguig to prepare for deportation back to their home country.
