A warehouse in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City was discovered to be selling illegally imported agricultural products, leading to the arrest of two individuals believed to be involved.

In an entrapment operation conducted by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG), two individuals known as Mary Ann and Israel from the Lucky Farmers Fruits and Grocery Store on Veterans Road, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City, were arrested.

During the joint operation of the CIDG Regional Field Unit (RFU) NCR, Southern Police District (SPD), Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) on December 23, 2024, at 6:00 in the evening, these individuals were caught selling imported white scallions that were not licensed by the BPI.

The suspects are currently held at the CIDG custodial facility, waiting to be charged with violations of "The Consumer Act of the Philippines."

PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil stated that this operation is part of their efforts to combat smuggling, hoarding, and profiteering of agricultural products.
