Residents living near bodies of water in Metro Manila, the entire Luzon, and the Visayas are being warned due to the ongoing rainfall brought on by typhoon Falcon and the southwest monsoon.
As of 9:30 last night (July 29), the water level at La Mesa Dam in Quezon City reached 79.81 meters. If this reaches the 80.15-meter mark, it will overflow and cause flooding near the Tullahan River in Quezon City, Malabon, and Valenzuela. The rising water level in the Marikina River is also being closely monitored.
The continuous rainfall is the result of typhoon Falcon entering the country, further intensified by the southwest monsoon. The center of the storm is located 1,210 kilometers east of Central Luzon. It is bringing winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts reaching 105 kilometers per hour.
Rain continues to pour in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, almost the entirety of CALABARZON, Northern Samar, the Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.
In the coming Monday, rain is still expected in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Occidental Mindoro, almost the entirety of CALABARZON, Palawan, Romblon, Northern Samar, the Bicol Region, and Western Visayas. Rain will persist until Tuesday in Metro Manila, Bulacan, the Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, the Bicol Region, almost the entirety of CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas.
Typhoon Falcon is estimated to leave the country on Monday afternoon or evening, but it will continue to bring rainfall to the nation.
