Taguig City government has provided substantial financial assistance to four students from West Rembo Elementary School, along with five other team members participating in the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

Before flying to the United States, the students, together with their coaches, school principal, and parents, met with Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano.
"Taguig's commitment to education is stronger than ever, especially with the addition of schools in the EMBO barangays. Our investment in our youth's education continues to pay off with students winning and bringing home national and international recognition in fields like mathematics, science, technology, robotics, journalism, and research," stated Mayor Cayetano when she met with the participants representing the Philippines at the global robotics competition.

Among the participants in the Vex Robotics World Championship are Zyric Abines, Cassandra Elyze Cruz, Rio Dames, and Andrew Lejarso.
West Rembo Elementary School principal Alma Adona thanked the city government for its assistance.
West Rembo Elementary School won the Vex Robotics local championships held on February 17, 2024. The students' trainers are Richard Abines and Gerry Sabangan.

The Vex World Championships are being held until May 3, 2024, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

The Taguig City government has assured its full support for its city's robotics team, which also includes students from other public schools in Taguig such as Sen. Renato Compañero Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, Taguig Integrated School, and R.P. Cruz Elementary School, who have also brought home laurels from worldwide competitions in Thailand, Taiwan, and Germany.
According to the Taguig City government, now that the public schools in the EMBO (enlisted men's barrio) barangays are within their jurisdiction, they are giving the same level of support to them.
Approximately 200,000 students are enrolled in public schools in the EMBO barangays.
