The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has initiated an administrative investigation against a police lieutenant colonel and his wife, suspected of involvement in the shooting and dismemberment of a sergeant within Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City on November 28, 2024.

The couple, Roderick and Executive Master Sergeant Rosemarie Pascua, have been criminally charged in relation to the death of 55-year-old Palawan policeman, Police Executive Master Sergeant Emmanuel De Asis.

"The suspects were immediately placed under restrictive custody. If evidence warrants and after the appropriate legal process are undertaken, the suspects involved should be dismissed from the service while facing the criminal cases against them," said NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin.

The suspect, a lieutenant colonel assigned to the Police Community Relations of the Southern Police District, admitted to killing De Asis in their shared quarters at the NCRPO headquarters in Taguig City on November 28, allegedly after catching his wife in an indecent act with the victim.

The suspect allegedly ordered his wife, assigned to the Regional Mobile Forces Battalion of the NCRPO, to get a hacksaw. De Asis's body was dismembered by Pascua, placed into two sacks, and then buried in Baguio City.

It was discovered that the suspect's wife also accompanied him to Baguio to bury the victim.

"There will be no stone left unturned in this investigation. The pieces of evidence are overwhelming and I specifically instructed concerned units to ensure the filing of airtight criminal and administrative cases against the suspects," Aberin added.

According to Brig. General Jean Fajardo, investigators have not yet been able to speak properly with the suspect's wife due to trauma.

"So we have not yet obtained her version of the story. But what's important here is we already established there is definitely murder in this case and then another case, the mutilation and possibly, the attempt to hide this incident," Fajardo said.

Upon further investigation, it was found out that De Asis and the suspect's wife were classmates in a course that ran from April to November of this year.
